How to connect a Bluetooth printer

Make the Bluetooth-capable printer discoverable according to its manual, then open Windows Settings, Bluetooth & devices, Printers & scanners and choose Add device.

  • A printer that explicitly supports Bluetooth printing
  • A Windows computer with Bluetooth enabled
  • The exact printer manual's discoverable-mode instructions

Connect the printer

    Confirm it is a Bluetooth printer

    Check the exact model documentation for Bluetooth printing support. A Wi-Fi printer, a phone app using Bluetooth only for initial setup, and a printer that accepts Bluetooth through an optional adapter are different cases.

    Enable Bluetooth on the computer

    Confirm the Windows computer supports Bluetooth and turn it on. If Bluetooth controls are missing, resolve the computer's Bluetooth hardware or driver issue before attempting printer pairing.

    Make the printer discoverable

    Follow the printer manufacturer's exact instructions to enter Bluetooth discoverable or pairing mode. The control sequence differs by model.

    Add the printer
