How to add a printer in Windows

In Windows 11, open Settings, Bluetooth & devices, Printers & scanners, choose Add device, and select the powered-on printer after Windows finishes searching.

What you need

  • The printer powered on and free of errors
  • The printer on the same network as the PC, or connected by USB
  • Windows Update available for recommended drivers

Connect the printer

  1. 1

    Prepare the connection

For wireless setup, connect the printer and PC to the same network. For USB, connect the printer directly and turn it on; Windows normally attempts installation automatically.
