- 42.xx"Replace cartridge, printer region mismatch" — the cartridge is genuine and otherwise correct, but it was manufactured for a different geographic region than the printer. Lexmark region-codes printers and cartridges to each other, so a cartridge bought in another region will be refused even when it physically fits. The fix is a cartridge made for your printer's region.
- 55.1"Error reading USB drive. Remove USB." The printer cannot read the USB flash drive plugged into its front port. The companion code 55.2 is the same fault for a USB hub, which Lexmark asks you to remove. Neither affects normal network or cable printing.
