Before you try the solution

If the error is still there

1. 1Return to the screen or job that produced the message and check whether the code has cleared.
2. 2If #406 returns, do not repeat a risky procedure. Record when it appears and check the documentation for the exact model.

• 495AAn error occurred while communicating over Wi-Fi or while in standby. Canon's remedy is to turn the printer off and on again.
• #001The original document is jammed in the ADF feeder during a fax/scan job. Remove the jammed original per the paper-jam troubleshooting section.
• 1000There is no paper in the rear tray, or the paper is not loaded correctly. Canon's remedy is to reload the paper, align the guides, set the paper information and press OK.
• 1200The scanning unit or cover is open. Closing it clears the message.
• 1240The operation panel is closed while a job was in progress. Open the operation panel and press OK to resume printing, or press Stop to cancel the job.
• 1300Paper is jammed while feeding from the rear tray. Canon's remedy is to pull the paper out slowly with both hands. If the paper tears, the procedure escalates to opening the printer to retrieve the fragments.
