How to set up a Brother printer

Download the installer from Brother's official setup site, choose Wireless Network Connection, and follow its guided USB or WPS connection method for the supported model.

What you need

  • The exact Brother model number
  • A Windows PC connected to the intended Wi-Fi network
  • A temporary USB cable or access to the router's WPS button if the installer requests one

Connect your Brother printer to Wi-Fi

    Follow the offered connection method

    Use the installer's temporary USB-cable method or its WPS option, whichever it offers and you can safely access. Follow the on-screen prompts and disconnect a temporary USB cable only when instructed.

    Select the printer and finish installation

    After the wireless connection is established, select the detected Brother machine and allow the wizard to install the printing and scanning software. Print a one-page test when installation finishes.
